Built-in Compliance

A2P 10DLC registration, compliance alerting, and more!

Summary

The video discusses the new features added to Salesmsg to help businesses stay compliant with A2P 10DLC regulations. The video first explains what A2P 10DLC is, its purpose, and how it affects businesses that use software to send SMS and MMS to customers in the US. To comply with A2P 10DLC, businesses must be registered for the right package based on their usage. If a business sends less than 3000 text messages a day and has five or fewer ten digit long codes, they qualify for a starter package, which is automatically registered by Salesmsg's engineering team. If a business sends more than 3000 messages a day or has five or more ten digit long codes, they must register for a standard package using an intuitive registration flow in the Salesmsg app. The app also allows businesses to check the status of their registration and their trust score, which determines the volume of messages they can send. The video concludes by encouraging viewers to contact the support team or check additional resources for more information.

Hello everyone. We are back with another video, and in today's video, I would like to walk you through the features that we added to Salesmsg to help you stay compliant with ATP Ten DLC. But before we get to the good stuff, what really is at A2P 10DLC? Why was it implemented and what does it really mean for your business? A2P stands for Application to Person. In other words, if it's using software to send SMS and MMS to customers in the US. A good example would be using the Salesmsg app to send, for example, order confirmations to your customers. 10DLC, on the other hand, stands for ten digit long code. So it's a ten digit phone number as opposed to a short code, and it's a local phone number as opposed to a toll free. So why were new rules implemented for adopt DLC? Well, there are two key reasons. On the one side, it's to give consumers more trust through reducing spam. On the other side, it's to give businesses who are registered and compliant better deliverability across the network. So we truly believe that it's a win win for everyone in the industry. So what does this mean for your business? Well, to stay compliant with the rules of HP 10DLC, your business needs to be registered to the right package. So the first step would be to figure out which package your business qualifies for and it comes down to usage. So, on the one hand, if you send less than 3000 text messages a day and have five or less ten digit long codes, then you would qualify for a starter package. On the other hand, if you send more than 3000 messages a day or have five or more ten digit long codes, then you would need to register for a standard package. If your business falls under the starter package, congratulations. There is nothing that you need to do at this moment. Our amazing engineering team built a back end automation that will automatically register your business for the starter package. In fact, you can go to the settings under your Salesmsg app and check the status of your registration and the type of package you are registered for. In this case, it will be the starter. Should your usage increase in the future and you fall under the standard package, you will be notified in the Salesmsg app to go and register for the standard package. That way you have the peace of mind that you are compliant and you focus on your business and your customers. If your business qualifies for a standard package, well, we have added a very intuitive registration flow right in the Salesmsg app to help you with the process. So you will start by providing information about your business, including the point of contact that you want to serve as an authorized representative, and you can add up to two. From there, you will move into providing information about your campaign, which is essentially the use case you want to use messaging for. Once you're done, you can always check the status of your application under the settings in the Salesmsg app, as well as the trust score that your business was assigned. This will essentially drive the volume of messages you will be able to send. That's it for today. I hope you found this video helpful. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to reach out to our support team. I also included additional resources in the description below for those of you who are interested in learning more. That's it for me today. Thanks for watching and happy texting.
