Hi everyone. Since we first released AI agents, they've helped teams respond faster and deliver more personalized customer experiences. But with all that power came a more complex setup process.
So today, we're excited to introduce AI Agents 2.0, a completely redesigned experience that is easier to build, easier to test, and more powerful than ever. So let's take a look.
Building an AI agent used to mean configuring multiple sections and settings before getting started. Now you simply chat to the AI to build your own agent. You can either describe what you want your agent to do in your own words or start with one of our optimized templates. For this demo, let's create an appointment booking agent.
From there, the AI assistant walks you through the setup one step at a time. It asks simple questions like which booking tool and meeting link to use, whether the agent should handle reschedules and cancellations, and how frequently it should send follow-up reminders. As you answer, the assistant configures and optimizes the entire agent for you behind the scenes. This way, you're simply describing how we want the booking experience to work instead of navigating through multiple settings pages.
Once you're done, you can switch over to the configure tab to see the fully generated prompt and settings, which you can further refine as needed.
Another major improvement is the prompt actions, giving you much more control over how your agents behave. Instead of configuring actions in separate sections, you can now embed them directly inside your prompt.
Simply type forward slash to insert the merge fields or actions wherever you need them. For example, you can have your agent first confirm the customer's email on file before continuing on the conversation or automatically apply and remove tags based on specific criteria like hot lead. You can also have the agent add one or more notes for your team based on what was discussed or send specific text messages with a pricing page or a list of services or any other helpful resource. You can even use the stop agent action to precisely control when the AI should conclude the conversation. This gives you much more flexibility to design exactly how your agent should work.
Before activating your agent, you can now thoroughly test every part of the experience using the improved testing interface. Chat with your agent, refine its responses, and even preview what follow-up reminders would look like before your customers ever see them.
