May 2026 Product Updates: Smarter Workflows, Call Recording Controls, and Faster Search

Hi everyone, back with another monthly product update with great improvements for automations, calling, and search.

So, let's take a look together.

First up, an important update for automations. Previously, you could only trigger automations using standard Salesmsg fields. Now, you can trigger automations using custom fields as well. For example, let's say you have a custom field called requested service. When that field is updated to tax planning, you can automatically trigger an AI agent specifically trained to answer questions and qualify leads for that service. But here's a pro tip. You can use AI agents to first collect information from customers and populate those custom fields, then use those values to trigger downstream automations. For example, an AI agent could collect a customer's budget range and automatically enroll high-value leads into a sales follow-up campaign while routing lower budget inquiries into a nurture workflow. And this update applies across all Salesmsg automations including AI agents, broadcasts, campaigns, and workflows.

Still on automations, you now have tighter control over managing contacts inside active engagement flows like AI agents and campaigns. For AI agents, from the in progress tab, you can remove a contact any time by selecting unenroll contact. For campaigns, you can now select one or multiple contacts and remove them from the campaign in bulk. This makes it much easier to fix enrollment mistakes or react to changes without stopping your automations entirely.

Next up, a great update for teams that rely heavily on call recordings. You can now pause and resume call recordings during live calls. For example, if you're collecting sensitive information like payment details, you can pause that part and then resume as usual. Once the call ends, Salesmsg will still have a single recording automatically excluding only the portions you paused for privacy.

Finally, we've continued to improve the search functionality. Your recent searches are now automatically saved, making it easier to get back to contacts and conversations you access frequently. You can also clear your search history anytime to keep things organized. And once you find the contact you're looking for, it's now even easier to take action with clear one-click options to send a text or start a call right away.
