-------------------
At Salesmsg, we just launched international texting. This is huge.
If you’ve been looking to expand your business across the world, or you already serve a global audience, you know how tough it can be to reach international leads and customers—especially if you’re relying on email to connect, nurture, and convert them.
Until now, you could only use Salesmsg to text your audience in the U.S. and Canada.
But that’s all changed.
With our new international texting, you can message customers in over 200 countries, using the same U.S. or Canadian numbers already linked to your Salesmsg account.
No new tools. No complex setup. Just the same Salesmsg platform you already know, now with a worldwide reach.
For growing businesses, this makes it easier to capture, connect, convert, and care for customers across borders.
Read on to find out how international texting works, and how to start using it to expand your reach, one text at a time.

Why international texting matters
Tools like the internet, email, Zoom, and Slack have connected businesses around the globe for years. But it hasn’t always been easy to engage those customers, because texting hasn’t always been available.
Your website attracts leads from around the world 24/7. Potential customers browse your products, read your content, and fill out forms at all hours. If you can’t engage with those international customers quickly, they’ll take their business somewhere else.
Say a potential customer from Australia visits your website while your team in Chicago is fast asleep. That would-be Australian customer fills out a form on your site to ask for more information. They expect a follow-up from your team, but nothing happens. Or by the time your team wakes up, they’ve moved on to a competitor who responded faster.
This communication disconnect creates a lot of challenges:
- International leads go cold because of delayed responses.
- Global customers don’t feel the same sense of connection with your brand.
- Your team misses out on potential hot leads and conversions.
- Your follow-up is inconsistent across time zones and continents.
With Salesmsg, you can set up international texts to be sent as SMS broadcasts on a one-off basis if you like. Or you can set up automated texting either in a workflow or use our built-in AI Agents inside Salesmsg to respond to your international customers anytime of the day or night.
This way, you’ll never miss an important international lead that comes in after hours.
How international texting works at Salesmsg
Getting started with international texting couldn’t be easier. There’s no complicated setup or additional work on your end.
It works directly from your existing Salesmsg account with your current U.S. or Canada-based phone number (or numbers).
Here’s how you can start texting your international leads:
Once inside your Salesmsg dashboard, all you need to do is create a new contact and select the country code from the drop-down list. (Be sure to include the plus sign and country code.)

You’ll also find clear, country-specific pricing inside Salesmsg. We give you a character count and cost for each text message, so you know exactly how many credits each text costs before you hit send.
(Please note: It does cost more credits to text internationally, so you’ll want to consult all prices before you send a global text—especially if you’re using automated texts.)
📌 Pro Tip: For more on pricing, check out our character counter.
SMS works everywhere—even where MMS doesn’t.
Features like image messaging (MMS), voice calling, and certain integrations are supported in our core countries: the U.S., Canada, U.K., and Australia. In most other countries, texting is limited to basic SMS—standard text messages only.
That means you can still reach international contacts with a simple text, even if extra features aren’t available in their region.
If your team relies on sending images, making calls, or using advanced automations, be sure to double-check what's supported in the countries you're targeting.
You can limit international texting.
By default, international texting is enabled for all Salesmsg users. That means your team can send messages to contacts in over 200 countries, using your existing U.S. or Canadian Salesmsg number.
But if you’d prefer to limit where your texts go, you can adjust your settings anytime. Just head to Organization Settings > Extended International Texting and look for the toggle to enable or disable global texting.
- Enabled: Your team can text internationally to all supported countries.
- Disabled: Texting is restricted to numbers in the U.S., Canada, U.K., and Australia only. All other destinations will be blocked and flagged as invalid.

This setting is especially helpful if you want to avoid unintended credit usage, stay region-specific, or enforce tighter compliance controls.
📌 Pro Tip: International texts vary in cost. A 160-character message to the U.S. = 1 credit. That same message to Belize? 23 credits. Use the in-app character counter to see exactly how many credits your message will cost—before you hit send.
You’re always in control—whether you want to go global or keep your messaging local.
6 ways to use international texting for your business
Now that you can text anywhere in the world, let’s look at some of the ways this can improve how you do business.
1. Improve speed to lead across time zones
Speed to lead is one of the most important metrics for measuring the effectiveness of your sales process. And texting is one of the best ways to improve speed to lead.
But, without texting, nurturing your international leads until they become customers can be a much slower process. You experience a higher lead drop-off rate.
With international texting, you can finally set up automated SMS messages to engage with your leads instantly, no matter where they are in the world.
You can set up automated SMS to gather additional information, respond to questions, and keep them engaged until your team is awake and ready to close deals.
You can even utilize AI Agents to enroll leads while you sleep.

2. Automate follow-ups for international leads
In the past, all international follow-ups had to be done via email. Email might get the job done, but texting for your follow-up is simply more effective.
By using Salesmsg, you can now create automated workflows that nurture your leads across different time zones. Plus, you can schedule messages to get sent out during appropriate local times.
The last thing you want is a lead in London to get follow-up texts in the middle of the night, not during their normal business hours.
3. Qualify leads around the world 24/7
Lead qualification across time zones can be challenging. Now, you can qualify leads no matter where they happen to be in the world, all through texting.
For example, you can create a simple text-based lead qualification workflow that all new leads go through to see if an international lead is worth pursuing.
The real power of this comes into play when this qualifying leads workflow is running while your team sleeps.
Here’s an example:
- A lead in Europe fills out a form on your site.
- Either an automated workflow or AI Agents respond to that lead instantly.
- From the leads’ perspective, it feels like they were immediately assisted.
- They respond and get automated texts based on their responses.
- If they qualify themselves through their responses, then they get a call booking form.
Now, when your team wakes up, they already know which international leads are the highest priority.

4. Set global appointments and reduce no-shows
If your business relies on sales calls and product demos, then you’re probably used to hearing crickets from your international leads.
Texting has a lot of strengths, but reducing no-shows and streamline setting appointments and meetings is a huge strength.
When you’re dealing with leads or clients in different time zones, communication becomes even more important. Being able to send automated appointment reminders and rescheduling messages helps to ensure you don’t have your team wasting time by showing up to calls that aren’t happening.
Now, with Salesmsg, you can automate all of your appointment reminder messages for international leads, just as you would leads back home.
5. Run international webinars and online events
For most online events like webinars, you’ll be reaching out to your entire audience to drive signups. One of the best ways to do this is via text. Texting is immediate and gets people to take action quickly.
When you have a time-sensitive offer, SMS is the best way to get your leads to take action. With international texting, you can send signup texts that are customized to arrive at the right local time.
Now, the time of your webinar or presentation might be late in the night or early morning for them. But being able to send quick and easy texts can help to ensure they’ll actually show up.
Beyond generating interest and driving signups to the webinar, you can also:
- Provide the webinar link directly in the text for easy access
- Follow up with post-event surveys
- Text the replay link for those who couldn’t make it.

6. Send global SMS broadcasts to test new markets
Sending global SMS broadcasts expands your reach as a business. Instead of trying to coordinate complex email campaigns that would-be customers rarely open, you can send highly engaging SMS campaigns right to your customers’ phones.
For example, you might be offering a new service that’s ideal for a specific international market, or you’re creating a new offer that’s country-specific.
Here’s just some of what you can do:
- Target specific regions of the world with local-based offers.
- Schedule your messages across time zones for maximum deliverability.
- Use built-in analytics to see which markets are the most receptive.
- Do a global launch across time zones using the most effective communication channel (cough cough texting).
Essentially, international texting gives you a way to grow your business that hasn’t been available before. It lets you test new offers and grow into new markets, using a new channel that your competitors aren’t likely using yet.

Salesmsg features that make international texting easier
We mentioned how easy Salesmsg makes international texting, but here are some additional features that make this process even more seamless.
You can text from your existing number
You can use your current phone number to reach your leads and customers anywhere in the world. No need to purchase additional numbers for different countries or switch between platforms.
This helps to keep things simple, and your customers will see the same number regardless of where they’re located.
Pricing is transparent and upfront
We made sure our pricing was as clear and transparent as possible. Before you send a text, you’ll be able to see how many credits the message will cost.
This helps you more easily budget for your international campaigns, decide which countries to prioritize, and more.

We focus on SMS deliverability
As mentioned, Salesmsg doesn’t offer all of our advanced SMS and calling features in every country. But we’ve ensured our core SMS functionality works reliably with high deliverability in every single country.
The reason for this is that getting high deiverability is the foundational step for unlocking all of the benefits that SMS provides.
Without high deliverability, you might as well be sending emails to a crowded inbox.
Easy to manage international contacts
Managing contacts from different countries is simple with Salesmsg. Your Salesmsg platform automatically handles country codes and number formatting, so you don’t have to.
You can search for international contacts just like you would local ones—by name, phone number, country code, or custom tags.
Salesmsg also integrates seamlessly with HubSpot, Salesforce, ActiveCampaign, Pipedrive, and more. This makes it easy to keep all your international leads and contacts organized across your existing tools.
Whether you're texting in five countries or 50, Salesmsg helps you stay organized as your global audience grows.
